Within the framework of the Culture and Tourism Week of the Land of the Ancestors 2023 on the morning of 22 April, The Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts (AVSE Global) cooperated with Phu Tho Provincial People’s Committee to organize the Vietnam Sustainability Forum – Leveraging Culture and Heritage in the Sustainable Development of Tourism.
The event aims to be an exchange space for global leaders and stakeholders to present and discuss the role of heritage and cultural development in the roadmap to promote tourism development and sustainable growth in localities in particular and Vietnam in general. Following the success of previous events, the forum focused on two main contents with the first thematic discussion on building a strategy for positioning local brands on the domestic and international tourism map, making a mark through exploitation, preservation of cultural heritage. Experiences of countries around the world in promoting cultural tourism for sustainable development associated with heritage are also the content shared by foreign experts. In two discussion sessions this morning, participants also shared about the practices and challenges of cultural heritage conservation policies and tourism development in Vietnam as well as limitations in promoting heritage values associated with tourism. The opinions and exchanges of domestic and foreign delegates will be the practical basis for cultural heritage conservation activities associated with sustainable tourism development in localities in particular and in Vietnam in general.
